Hello and welcome to my Online Teaching Portfolio!
I am a Postdoctoral Fellow (PDF) in the School of Medicine (SOM) – Department of Cell, Developmental and Integrative Biology (CDIB), working within the Comprehensive Diabetes Center (CDC), at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
My research focuses on the molecular mechanisms and cellular signaling pathways regulating pancreatic beta-cell (β-cell) apoptosis and working on pharmacological and biomolecular interventions to promote β-cell survival; necessary for preventing the progression of both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes.
Concomitantly, I teach in Biology, Cell Biology, Human Physiology and Immunology, as well as other related subject due to my background in Biology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry and Biomolecular and Pharmaceutical Sciences. I have been fortunate enough to do so on campus at UAB (SOM, SHEP, MHRC and STH) as well as in neighboring collaborating campuses in Oakwood University in Hunstville and Stillman College in Tuscaloosa.
Thank you for visiting!
